Today i.e. 2nd November is going to be a historic day for cricket fans. The final match of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 will be played between the strong teams of India and South Africa. This match will start at 3:00 pm at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Both the teams have performed brilliantly in the tournament and have reached the finals, and now there will be a tough fight for the title. With this, the Women’s ODI World Cup will get a new champion after 25 years.
Will the match boss decide the toss?
The Indian women’s team has demonstrated its strength to the fullest in this tournament. This is the third final of the ODI World Cup for them, where they would like to end the trophy drought. On the other hand, the South African team has reached the final of the ODI World Cup for the first time. Laura Wolvaardt and her teammates played aggressive cricket throughout the season and created history by winning consecutively. This match is a dream stage for both the teams, but the role of toss is going to be very important in this final match.
Statistics show that in the last three Women’s World Cup finals, only the team batting first has won. In such a situation, winning the toss and choosing to bat first can prove beneficial. Mumbai’s pitch usually helps the batsmen, but as the evening approaches, the bowlers can get the benefit of swing and spin. Therefore, the decision of the toss can prove to be decisive in deciding the direction of the match.
Results of last three finals
Let us tell you, the final match of 2013 World Cup was played between Australia and West Indies. In this match, Australia batted first and won by 114 runs. After this, in 2017, England batted first and scored 228 runs and while chasing the runs, India had to face defeat by 9 runs. If we talk about the last final, Australia had defeated England by 71 runs. But the special thing is that India played the semi-final match on this ground and showed the biggest run chase in the history of women’s ODI.
