IND vs NZ: Team India’s trio is getting a lot of applause, now who will wreak havoc against New Zealand?

ODI World Cup-2023 is now at its final stage. The four semi-finalist teams of the tournament have been announced. The first semi-final is to be played on 15 November at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This match is to be played between host India and New Zealand. Although the Indian team is known for its excellent batting, but in this tournament the Indian bowlers have shown a strong performance and have made it difficult for their opposition teams to cross 100 many times. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj included in the Indian fast bowling have made it difficult for the batsmen to survive. These three will also play a big role against New Zealand in the semi-finals, but the question is who among these three is the biggest threat to the Kiwi team?

The semi-final match of the ODI World Cup played in England in 2019 was also played between India and New Zealand. In that match, the New Zealand team under the captaincy of Kane Williamson had defeated the Indian team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. This time India would like to avenge that defeat. The host team is also looking in great form this time. Both these teams have played against each other in the league stage in which India won.

What will New Zealand be saved from?

All three fast bowlers of the Indian team are in excellent form. Bumrah and Siraj have created problems for the batsmen with the new ball, while Shami, who came in the first change, has taken a flurry of wickets. In a way, all three of them are a threat to New Zealand. When these two teams met in the league stage, Shami had taken five wickets. Siraj and Bumrah had one wicket each. Shami did not play the initial matches of the World Cup but ever since he came into the team after Hardik Pandya’s injury, he has been doing wonders. Handling all three will prove to be a difficult task for New Zealand.

Who is the biggest threat?

Bumrah and Siraj are in excellent form but the way Shami is bowling at the moment is better than these two in every aspect and hence he has been successful in taking more wickets than these two on most of the occasions in the past matches. Even against New Zealand, Shami can prove to be the biggest threat for New Zealand. The secret of Shami’s brilliant bowling has been his excellent seam position and swing, which has proved difficult for even the best batsmen to understand in this tournament so far. Shami had set an example of this in the last match played between these two teams in Dharamshala. It was difficult for New Zealand to understand Shami in that match.

Bumrah will trouble because of this

This match is to be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This ground is Bumrah’s home ground. He knows how to bowl here and what kind of game the pitch plays here. Therefore, it will be difficult to ignore Bumrah also. Due to the home ground, Bumrah is as big a threat to New Zealand as Shami is. If we look at the statistics of Shami and Bumrah in this World Cup, Bumrah has taken 17 wickets in nine matches. Whereas Shami has taken 16 wickets in six matches. Shami is also the highest wicket taker for India in the ODI World Cup.
