Just a few days ago, in the Ranji Trophy, Haryana’s fast bowler Anshul Kamboj created a stir by taking 10 wickets in an innings. Kamboj reminded of former Indian captain and great leg spinner Anil Kumble, who took all 10 wickets in a single innings against Pakistan. Now one Lal from Bihar has gone ahead of these two, who single-handedly defeated the entire team and created history. This bowler not only took 10 wickets, but also did the amazing job of taking a hat-trick during this period. Name is Suman Kumar.
In the domestic season of BCCI, where the eyes are constantly focused on Ranji Trophy and now Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the most important tournament of junior level, Cooch Behar Trophy is also going on simultaneously. Like Ranji Trophy, teams from every state association compete in this under-19 level red ball tournament. One such match is being played between Rajasthan and Bihar, on the third day of which fast bowler Suman created history by taking all 10 wickets.
First took a hat-trick, then defeated the entire team
On the third day, Rajasthan started its innings with the loss of 1 wicket for 70 runs. Suman had taken the first wicket on the second day itself. On the third day, this young pacer took a flurry of wickets. During this time, in the 36th over of the innings, Suman wreaked complete havoc. He completed a hat-trick by sending back three consecutive batsmen to the pavilion on the fourth, fifth and sixth balls of the over.
If this achievement was not enough then Suman decided to do an even bigger feat. Coming from Samastipur, Bihar, this bowler quickly trapped the remaining batsmen and showed them the way to the pavilion and thus did an amazing job by taking all the 10 wickets in Rajasthan’s innings. Rajasthan’s entire innings collapsed for just 182 runs. Suman bowled 20 maidens in her 33.5 overs and took all 10 wickets while conceding only 53 runs.
Bihar got a big lead
Talking about the match, Bihar batted first and scored a huge score of 467 runs in the first innings. For that, Deepesh Gupta (183 not out) and Prithvi Raj (128) scored brilliant centuries. Bihar took a huge lead of 285 runs in the first innings. Then Rajasthan was forced to follow on. However, Rajasthan made a strong comeback in the second innings and by the end of the third day’s play had scored 173 runs after losing 2 wickets. However, the team is still 112 runs behind.
