IAS officer’s 27-year-old daughter commits suicide after 8 months of marriage. The husband is accused of dowry harassment and assault. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
Amravati: Within 8 months of marriage, the daughter of a senior IAS officer committed suicide. Madhuri Sahithibai, 27, daughter of Andhra Pradesh IAS officer Chinnarammudu, committed suicide. His body was found hanging in the bathroom of his house in Tadepalli. Madhuri’s husband’s name is Rajesh Naidu, who is a resident of Bagganapalli near Bettancherla mandal of Nandyal district. After a long love affair, both of them got married in March this year. It was an inter-caste marriage. But, within three months of marriage, Madhuri complained to her family that her husband beats her brutally.
Subsequently, the local police intervened and shifted Madhuri from her husband’s house to her own home in Tadepalli. After coming here two months ago, she did not go back. Yesterday his body was found in the bathroom of this house. Police have sent the body to AIIMS Hospital in Mangalagiri. Police have registered a case on the complaint of Madhuri’s mother.
IAS officer Chinnarammudu said that Rajesh cheated his daughter by lying about having a job and forced her to register the marriage. She also said that Rajesh used to threaten and harass her daughter by demanding dowry. Her daughter was waiting in the hope that her husband loved her. He said that he did not think that his daughter would commit suicide.
