Husband was alive, wife declared him dead, kept taking widow pension for three years, then…

Women observe strict fasts like Teej and Kadva Chauth for the long life of their husbands, so that their marriage remains immortal. At the same time, there are some women who are taking widow pension after declaring their husband dead while he was alive. One such case has come to light from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. Here a woman did something similar. This was revealed by none other than the same husband who was declared dead by his wife.

Now the husband has filed a case against his own wife and is demanding action. This case has been registered in Gahmar police station on the orders of the court. Ramavatar, a resident of Maniya Gram Sabha, has filed a case against his wife Tara Devi. It is alleged that his wife is taking widow pension of Rs 2000 per month after declaring him dead. She has been receiving widow pension from the probation department since 2021. When Ram Avtaar came to know about this, he was shocked that his wife had declared him dead while he was alive.

Regarding this, Ramvtar informed the entire matter through registered post to the Superintendent of Police at Gahmar police station on 19th July and 29th July 2024. But when no action was taken, he took refuge in the court. He had complained about this in a complaint letter to Gahmar police station and the Superintendent of Police. It was said – Firstly, his wife made him dead while he was alive and secondly, he has misused government money.

Court ordered

But when the case was not registered, they took recourse to the court and the court ordered to register a case against Tara Devi in this matter. In view of which, Gahmar police station has registered a case against Tara Devi under sections 419 and 420 and ordered to take further action.
