The trailer begins with the universe of a father-daughter duo. The father figure (played by Nani)’s world revolves around his daughter who nonetheless remains curious about his mother, and wants to hear her story.

One day, The father decides to tell his daughter the story of how he met her mother. When she asks her father who to imagine for the mother figure in the story, a stranger (played by Mrunal Thakur) who the father-daughter duo had just bumped into, asks the young girl to imagine her. There on ensues a bittersweet journey of a father’s attempt to reconcile with his trouble past while he tries to be truthful to his daughter who clearly misses the presence of a mother figure in her life.

Hi Nanna marks first collaboration between Nani, Mrunal Thakur

As Hi Nanna gears up for the release, the makers have been promoting the film in a very interesting, innovative manner. Last week, banking on the upcoming Telangana elections, Nani had released a video where he dressed up as a politician and released a ‘manifesto’ for his fictitious political party.

This is the first time that Nani and Mrunal Thakur are collaborating on a film. Child artist Kiara Khanna plays the adorable daughter figure in the movie. Additionally, Hi Nanna also features Shruti Haasan in a seemingly pivotal role. Bollywood actor Angad Bedi too is a part of the film’s cast.

Nani’s upcoming projects include Saripoda Sanivaaram, where he reunites with his Ante Sundaaraniki director Vivek Athreya. Directed by Shourvuv, Hi Nanna is slated to release on December 7.
