He doesn’t speak English, how can he captain… Axar Patel makes a big statement, calling this thinking of people wrong

All-rounder Axar Patel currently plays all three formats for the Indian team. He also captains the Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Axar Patel has now made a significant statement regarding his captaincy.

Experienced Indian all-rounder and IPL captain of Delhi Capitals, Axar Patel, has made a significant statement regarding captaincy. People often believe that a captain should know English and be able to speak it. However, Axar Patel disagrees with this view. Let’s find out what Axar Patel has to say on this matter.

What did Akshar Patel say in his statement?

Speaking to The Indian Express, Axar Patel said, “People start saying, ‘He’s not captain material. He doesn’t speak English. How will he speak? He’s this, he’s that.’ A captain’s job isn’t just about talking. A captain’s job is to know the player, to get the best out of him. What are his strengths, what are his weaknesses? A captain knows, ‘I have this player,’ and what do I need to do to get the job done from him.”

He further said, “If we say you need personality, you need to speak good English, that’s a perception people have based on their own thinking. It’s important that people change their personal mindset. They should stop thinking, ‘Oh, he has a good personality, he can speak English – so he deserves to be captain.’ One thing about captaincy is that there shouldn’t be any language barrier.”
