Hardik Pandya reports to brother Krunal ahead of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy return

India all rounder Hardik Pandya is all set to play for Baroda under the captaincy of his brother Krunal in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is all set to begin from November 23 as Baroda will start their campaign against Gujarat in Indore.

Ahead of the fixture, Hardik shared a photograph with his brother Krunal on his Instagram handle as the duo trained together at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

Hardik was recently a part of the Indian squad which played the four-match T20I series in South Africa and is now set to feature in domestic cricket with the next limited overs series for India scheduled in January. The all rounder has been out of contention of Test cricket for the past six years with his last appearance in the longest format coming in 2018.  Hardik wrote a heartfelt caption for his brother who will be seen captaining the Baroda side.

“Reporting to my brother for Baroda duty in Indore,” wrote Hardik on his Instagram account.

 

 

 

 

Hardik last played for Baroda in 2018-19 in a Ranji Trophy game and his last appearance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy came way back in 2016. Baroda reached the final of the presvious season of India’s premier domestic T20 tournament under the leadership of Krunal and lost against Punjab in the summit clash.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya recently . In the recent series against South Africa he scored 59 runs and also picked two wickets with the ball. Earlier, he was adjudged Player of the Series after India’s 3-0 whitewash over Bangladesh in the T20I series for his magnificent all-round performance. The all-rounder scored 118 runs from three innings at an average of 59 and a strike rate of 222.64. Apart from his batting heroics, he also picked up one wicket in the series from two matches and also took a spectacular running catch on the boundary in the second T20I.
