Mallika Sherawat’s Outburst At A Journalist: Renowned for her captivating presence in cinematic endeavors such as Khwahish (2003) and Murder (2004), Sherawat has frequently found herself prominently showcased in the media, often heralded as a symbol of sensuality.

Regardless of the persona she chose to embody, the actress consistently commanded attention during her heyday in the bustling realm of B-town. However, Sherawat, an ardent advocate for women’s rights, once found herself at the center of a noteworthy incident a decade ago, wherein she expressed frustration with a journalist who had misunderstood her response concerning the ‘regressive Indian society’.

During the press conference, a female journalist asked Mallika about her statement that “India is regressive and depressing” and why she would want to come to such a country to find true love? Mallika didn’t hesitate to retaliate and said, “I think you need to do your homework well. I said Indian society is regressive for women, see the interview again.”

The journalist asked, “Why do you think Indian society is regressive for women?” The Murder actor soon shot back and said, “Today I read in the newspaper, according to UNFPA, 40 per cent of Indian women are married below the age of 18, I think it is a very very regressive state for women. And I stand by it.”
