Fermín Aldeguer amazed by MotoGP braking power: ‘It’s amazing when and where you can brake’

Fermín Aldeguer rode the Ducati Desmosedici GP24 for the first time during this week’s MotoGP test in Barcelona. The Gresini rider had the chance to start understanding the reality of riding a premier class bike.

The Spaniard admitted that the machine impresses on several levels. However, one aspect stood out the most – the braking performance, which initially presented some challenges:

– Everything is incredible, because of the acceleration, the speed… but I think the most important was the braking point. It’s amazing when and where you can brake. You can brake so late, and you feel that the bike stops. Understanding this in the first laps was very difficult.

When asked whether he would need to work on his physical condition to better adapt to MotoGP braking demands, Aldeguer replied: ‘Yeah, because I’m done with my muscle, the arm pump, and the shoulder. But I feel good about my physical condition – just a bit of arm pump and the surgery on my hand. But for the rest I feel good. For sure, I have to work for a long race’.
