There has been huge loss due to unseasonal rain and hailstorm in Gujarat. Standing crops have been damaged due to waterlogging and hailstorm in the fields. At the same time, 27 people have lost their lives due to lightning in different parts of the state. State officials said that there was heavy rain in many districts since Sunday morning, which continued till Monday. During this period there has been strong storm and hailstorm. The districts which have suffered the most due to lightning and hailstorm. The list of those affected districts has also been released by the state officials.

These affected districts are Dahod, Tapi, Dangs, Amreli, Surendranagar, Botad, Mehsana, Kheda, Panchmahal, Sabarkantha, Ahmedabad, Bharuch and Devbhoomi Dwarka. A total of 27 people have lost their lives due to lightning in all these districts. Also animals have died. Crops standing in houses and fields have also been significantly damaged.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed grief

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed grief over the loss of lives due to lightning and hailstorm. Also, the Home Minister has appreciated the relief efforts made by the state administration. Gujarat government has also become alert on unseasonal rains. Rescue work is being carried out in the affected districts. Relief material is also being delivered.

It rained up to 144 mm in two days

Gujarat government minister Rushikesh Patel said that in the last two days, about 60 percent of the state has received rain. Rainfall has ranged from 1 mm to 144 mm in two days. Crops have suffered a lot due to unseasonal rains. The government is planning to conduct a survey to assess the damage caused by unseasonal rain, hailstorm and lightning. So that it can be ensured that the affected farmers get appropriate compensation.
