Congress has put all its strength into the election campaign of five states. Apart from Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, party president Mallikarjun Kharge is also campaigning heavily. Rahul Gandhi is also active in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana but the distance from Rajasthan has made Ashok Gehlot uncomfortable. After Gehlot’s appeal to Kharge, Rahul Gandhi is now jumping into the campaign from November 16.
Rahul Gandhi is campaigning vigorously for victory in MP/Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram, but questions are being raised over his not being active in Rajasthan. Questions were also raised when Rahul did not claim victory in Rajasthan while he claimed victory in the remaining four states. Now questions are being raised that why is Rahul away from Rajasthan? After the announcement of elections, Rahul Gandhi has not campaigned in Rajasthan till now. However, both Priyanka and Kharge have campaigned in the state. His displeasure with Gehlot is also being considered a reason behind this.

Is Rahul uncomfortable with Gehlot’s leadership?
Be it the matter of not holding the legislative party meeting in Rajasthan or the distribution of tickets, the way Rahul Gandhi raised questions on Gehlot, it is clear that he is uncomfortable with Gehlot’s leadership. In Sunil Konugolu’s survey, Rahul is also uncomfortable with Gehlot because about 40 to 45 percent of the MLAs did not agree to cancel the tickets. This is the reason why they are not paying as much attention to Rajasthan as they are paying to other states. However, how can the party openly admit this? Congress leader Alok Sharma said that BJP should not spread confusion. After November 15, Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Rajasthan. The election there is on 25th and we are winning 5-0.

Questions arising from election campaign in Telangana
The party may be trying to convey that Rahul is first paying attention to where voting is in the beginning of November. But in Telangana, where voting is the last, this claim is proving to be hollow due to the hyperactivity of Rahul Gandhi. However, when Gehlot conveyed his message to Kharge that Rahul Gandhi’s absence was sending a wrong message, then it was decided that Rahul Gandhi would make several visits to Rajasthan after November 15. After the announcement of election dates, Priyanka held rallies in Jhunjhunu and Kota while Kharge held two rallies in Baran and Jodhpur. Rahul Gandhi had participated in the workers’ conference in Jaipur on 23 September but after that he did not look towards Rajasthan. Also, now before Rahul’s programs, to send the message of unity in the party, Gehlot has been instructed to give ample space to Sachin Pilot’s pictures in the party posters.
