November 2025 Marriage Muhurat: The biggest Ekadashi of the year, Devuthani Ekadashi, will be celebrated on 1 November. Devuthani Ekadashi fast will be observed and Lord Vishnu will be worshiped as per the rituals. Devuthani Ekadashi is also known as Devotthan and Prabodhini Ekadashi. On this day Lord Vishnu wakes up from four months of Yoga Nidra. With his awakening Chaturmas (month of Chaturmas) ends.
This Chaturmas (month of Chaturmas) begins when Lord Vishnu goes into Yoga Nidra for four months. In Hinduism, auspicious functions like marriage, mundan and house warming are prohibited during this Chaturmas. However, on Devuthani Ekadashi, as soon as the Lord wakes up from his Yoga Nidra, all these auspicious activities including marriage begin again. There is no auspicious time for marriage on Devuthani Ekadashi.
It is believed that due to the movement of the Sun, marriages will not take place on Devuthani Ekadashi this year. This year, the Sun will be in Libra on Devuthani Ekadashi. Due to this, Tula Sankranti Dosh will remain till 16th November. Therefore, Devuthani Ekadashi i.e. 1st November is not an auspicious date for marriage. This will continue till 16 November. It is believed that marriages take place only after the Sun enters Scorpio. Sun will enter Scorpio on 16 November. After this, marriages will start in the month of November.
