The air quality in Delhi reached severe category on Wednesday morning. According to the Meteorological Department, the air may worsen in the coming days. The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded above 400 at 5 am on Wednesday, which was 397 on Tuesday and 358 on Monday. Delhi’s AQI was 218 on Sunday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality across Delhi remains in the ‘severe’ category. AQI was 430 in Anand Vihar, 417 in RK Puram, 423 in Punjabi Bagh and 428 in Jahangirpuri.

Even in NCR, air quality has reached serious category. According to the board, 366 AQI was recorded in Faridabad, 428 in Gurugram, 369 in Ghaziabad and 402 in Noida.

How will be the weather of Delhi?

Along with the problem of bad air, smog has also started in Delhi. There was light fog on Wednesday morning. According to the Meteorological Department, fog may be seen for the next seven days. There will be an increase in it every day and the haze will increase significantly from November 19.

Why did the fog return?

Delhi got relief from pollution due to rain, but after that the air has remained bad and the level of pollution has increased. Despite the ban, people burst fireworks on Diwali night due to which the era of smog has returned again.

Delhi is the most polluted city in the world

News agency PTI reported that according to IQAir, a Swiss company considered an expert in air quality, Delhi was the most polluted city in the world on Tuesday. This was followed by Dhaka of Bangladesh, Lahore of Pakistan and Mumbai of India.

An official of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), an organization working to curb pollution, said, it is clear that after Diwali, the level of pollution increases due to two main reasons – fireworks and burning of stubble in the fields. Fireworks were the main reason in this case.

In which states will it rain?

According to Skymet, the news agency providing weather information, there may be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Rain alert has also been issued in some parts of Odisha and West Bengal. However, it will not have any positive effect on the bad air of Delhi.
