Dr. Shaheen Saeed was arrested after 2,900 kg explosives were found in Faridabad. During investigation, her ex-husband Hayat told that both of them had separated in 2012. The family said there was no contact with Shaheen for years and there were no signs of his suspicious activities.
Red Fort Blast Updates: Dr Shaheen Saeed was arrested after 2,900 kg of explosive material was found in two rented rooms in Faridabad near Delhi. The rooms from where the explosives were found belonged to Dr. Muzammil Ganai, a Kashmiri doctor who taught at Al-Falah University. Police and investigating agencies spoke to Shaheen’s family in Lucknow and her ex-husband Hayat Zafar in Kanpur. Zafar has made many big revelations related to Shaheen.

Crime Branch officials in Kanpur, 80 km from Lucknow, interrogated Dr. Saeed’s ex-husband Dr. Zafar Hayat. Dr. Hayat said that he came to know about Shaheen’s arrest only on Tuesday evening. We were married in November 2003 and both of us studied medicine separately. I was senior to him. However, we divorced in late 2012.
Shaheen never wore burqa except during her marriage.
Reminiscing about their years together, Dr Hayat said that Shaheen had never worn a burqa except for her wedding. I have never seen her in a burqa. Once he asked me why don’t we settle in Australia or Europe for better money and lifestyle. On this I told him that we are already living a good life here. Our relatives and everyone are here, we will feel lonely there.
Elder brother Shoaib did not talk to Shaheen for 4 years
In Lucknow, Shaheen Saeed’s elder brother Mohammad Shoaib said that police and ATS officials had come to his house, but treated him courteously. They searched the house and asked questions in the usual manner. He neither treated my father nor me badly. There was no pressure or coercion on us to say anything. Shoaib told that we brothers and sisters have not talked for four years. Although the parents occasionally heard from him.
No signs of Shaheen’s involvement in suspicious activities found
Shoaib said that he never visited her house near IIM Road on the outskirts of Lucknow. All I knew was that he had a house somewhere on IIM Road. I don’t even know its exact location. Even when Shaheen was studying medicine, there was no indication of her involvement in any suspicious activity. I still don’t believe the allegations against him.
Shaheen studied medicine from Allahabad
Dr. Shaheen’s father Syed Ahmed Ansari said, I cannot believe that my daughter was involved in such activities. He studied medicine in Allahabad and later worked in Faridabad. My eldest son Shoaib lives here with me. The second son was arrested yesterday. My younger son Parvez Ansari, whose house was raided this morning, has left the city long ago. I last spoke to Shaheen about a month ago, but talk to Parvez almost every week.
