Delhi Blast Blast: Red Fort blast destroyed the world of 12 families. Recognition from tattoos, last calls, and deaths of friends shocked everyone. Was this an accident or the first sign of some conspiracy?
New Delhi. Monday evening’s car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort was not just a blast – it was the end of the dreams of many homes. When a crowd of family members gathered outside LNJP Hospital on Tuesday, every face was full of questions – “Why with us?” The atmosphere of the hospital was like a war zone – silence, screams and tears all around. Everyone was searching for their ‘own’ in the corridors of the hospital. The bodies of 8 people killed in the blast were handed over to their families on Tuesday. These included taxi drivers, bus conductors, shopkeepers and e-rickshaw drivers – people who were making ends meet with their daily toil.
The last meeting of two friends became the cause of death
- Lokesh Aggarwal of Amroha had come to Delhi to meet his 34-year-old friend Ashok Kumar (DTC conductor). They chose Red Fort metro station as the meeting place.
- The laughter of both the friends lasted only for a few minutes… then came the explosion which ended the lives of both of them.
- In an instant, friendship, family and dreams all turned into ashes.
Dinesh Mishra of Shravasti and the painful end of a hard-working life
- Dinesh Mishra, a resident of Shravasti, worked at a saree shop in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Dinesh, father of two children, struggled every day to provide for his family.
- Meanwhile, 35-year-old Mohammad Junman, who used to drive an e-rickshaw, did not return home that day. His phone was found switched off, and the next day Uncle Idris identified him by his blue shirt and jacket.
- His wife is disabled and now three children have become orphans.
Pankaj: When he was fired from Meesho, he started driving a cab but life stopped there.
- 22-year-old Pankaj, who had started working at Meesho company after studying till 12th, started driving a cab after being fired from the job.
- That day he had gone to drop his neighbor to the Red Fort.
- Then suddenly a blast… the phone was not picked up, there was no answer, and finally an identified body was found in the mortuary.
- His car was found half burnt – the rear part was blown off.
Amar Kataria: Father identified his son from his tattoo
- The death of 34-year-old businessman Amar Kataria left his father devastated.
- Amar had tattoos on his hand – “Mom My First Love”, “Dad My Strength”, “Kriti” of which his father was proud.
- Got a call, “What do you think about the tattoo guy?” The father ran to the hospital and recognized his son there.
Mohsin of Meerut: Came to Delhi to earn daily bread, died
- 35-year-old Mohsin, resident of Meerut, used to drive e-rickshaw daily to meet his household expenses.
- After his death, there was a dispute in the family regarding the last rites. The wife wanted to be buried in Delhi, the family wanted to be buried in Meerut. Finally the last rites took place in Meerut with the help of police.
Nauman Ansari: A young man who came to buy cosmetics was handed over to death.
- Nauman Ansari, 22, a resident of Shamli, had come to Delhi to buy cosmetics for his shop.
- He died in the blast and his cousin was injured.
- Nauman was the sole breadwinner of the family, while his elder brother is suffering from kidney failure.
Every name, every story is testifying to that night when the blast left silence in the heart of Delhi. NIA and FSL teams are now investigating from every angle, but everything is over for the victims’ families.
