Two big news came out from Rajasthan on Wednesday. First, Congress candidate from Karanpur Gurmeet Singh Kunar passed away, while second, BJP leader Amin Pathan joined Congress. Gurmeet Singh Kunar was ill for a long time. He breathed his last at the age of 75. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed grief over the demise of Gurmeet Singh.
Gehlot said that despite being unwell for a long time, Kunnar was always striving for development work in his area. Kunnar Saheb’s demise is an irreparable loss for the Congress Party and the politics of Rajasthan.
I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Karanpur MLA and former minister Shri Gurmeet Singh Kunnar. Despite being unwell for a long time, Shri Kunnar was always striving for development work in his area. Kunnar Saheb’s death is irreparable for Congress Party and Rajasthan politics.

What did Amin say after joining Congress?
After joining Congress, Amin Pathan said, for the last 25 years I have been a BJP worker, councilor and chairman of various boards. It seems that only some people and industrialists from Gujarat are being promoted. This is not the BJP whose ideology and policy under which we joined it.
He further said that now there are no leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. It seems that BJP has deviated from its promises. Hurt by that, I resigned from BJP. Ashok Gehlot has worked for farmers, youth and women. In view of this, I have decided to join Congress.
