This time the election in Rajasthan politics is focused on Ashok Gehlot. Congress’s effort is to end the long-standing tradition in which a Congress government is formed and a BJP government is formed. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been the Chief Minister thrice. Apart from this, he was also elected to the Lok Sabha several times. He also remained a minister at the Center for a long time. In the last 5 years, there was a constant situation of uncertainty within the Congress government in Rajasthan, but it overcame all kinds of crises and completed its government’s tenure. Now his eyes are on starting his fourth term.
How much property does CM Gehlot have?
Ashok Gehlot, who is trying to save his chair and form the Congress government in the state for the second consecutive time, is making his mark in the electoral arena this time too. Gehlot is contesting from Sardarpura assembly seat in Jodhpur district. Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Dr. Mahendra Singh Rathore against him. Ashok Gehlot has claimed in his affidavit that he has total assets worth Rs 11,68,98,758. In which he is the owner of property worth about Rs 10 crore. Gehlot told that he does not have any car. Whereas in the affidavit filed in the 2018 assembly elections, Gehlot had declared assets worth more than Rs 6.53 crore. In 2013, he had assets worth Rs 1 crore 69 lakh.
Chief Minister Gehlot said in his affidavit that he has Rs 1.93 crore in his bank account while there is Rs 65 lakh in the bank account in his wife’s name. Apart from 23.75 grams of gold, his wife also has 900 grams of silver.
Gehlot became MP for the first time in 1980
Ashok Gehlot was born on 3 May 1951 in Jodhpur city of Rajasthan. He came into politics very early. Gehlot’s father was a magician and used to perform magic shows in the country. He also started performing magic on stage with his father. Because of this he came to be called a magician. Gehlot was engaged in politics and social service since his student days. He joined NSUI in 1974 and soon became the president of its Rajasthan wing.

He was first elected from Jodhpur Lok Sabha seat in 1980. After this, he was successful in winning the election from Jodhpur seat in 1984 also. After this, in the 10th Lok Sabha i.e. 1991-96, Gehlot entered the Lok Sabha by winning the election from Jodhpur seat. He also managed to win the 11th Lok Sabha (1996-98) and 12th Lok Sabha (1998-1999) elections.
Gehlot worked with 3 PM
Ashok Gehlot became a member of the 11th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in 1999 after being elected from Sardarpura (Jodhpur) assembly constituency. He was also elected from the same assembly seat in the years 2003, 2008 and 2013. Whereas in the year 2018, he was re-elected from Sardarpura seat for the 15th Rajasthan Assembly elections.

Ashok Gehlot, who has held the post of minister at the Center several times, is the Chief Minister of Rajasthan for the third time. Before assuming the post of Chief Minister for the third time in 2018, Gehlot was the Chief Minister from 1998 to 2003 and again from 2008 to 2013. Before becoming the CM of Rajasthan, Gehlot was a member of the cabinets of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao at the Center and worked as a Union Minister.
