Gurgaon Police has arrested 7 people in Chatterjee Cyber scam. The people who have been arrested by the police. These cyber thugs used to hack people’s phones by luring them with fake jobs. After which they used to withdraw money from his account. Not only this, through fake likes and subscriptions on YouTube, he used to trick people into his words and extort money from them. According to the information received from the police, till now these thugs have extorted Rs 22 crore from the people.
According to the news of Indian Express, this was revealed in October when a woman resident of Gurgaon received a call from an unknown number. The accused sent a link to the woman’s phone and asked her to click on the link. The thugs had already scared the woman that her phone could be hacked. The woman was offered to save the phone by clicking on the link. Out of fear the woman clicked on the link sent on WhatsApp.
As soon as she clicked on the link, the woman’s phone got switched off and when the phone was switched on, the SMS received on the phone showed that Rs 80,000 had been withdrawn from the woman’s account. After this, the morale of the scamsters increased and thus these incidents became common for these criminals. They started extorting money from people by luring them into their words. However, as such cases are coming to light every day, the police laid a trap. After which Gurgaon Police has arrested 7 cyber thugs. During interrogation of the arrested accused, it was revealed that these people had extorted approximately Rs 22 crore by committing fake crimes.
Giving information, Deputy Commissioner of Police Siddhant Jain said that the names of the arrested accused are Danish, Majid, Navdeep Kumawat, Krishna Gopal, Mahendra Kumar Sen and Sachin Nama. Cases are registered against these people in many areas across the country. Also, the police said that these people used to lure people for fake jobs, to increase likes on YouTube and they used to extort money from those who fell in love with them.
