IIM Kozhikode CAT 2025: Big news has come for lakhs of students appearing for CAT 2025. IIM Kozhikode has announced that this year’s Common Admission Test exam will be held on 30 November 2025. This is considered to be the most important examination for the candidates who dream of admission in management and hence every year there is a lot of discussion about its preparation. This time the examination will be conducted in three different sessions in about 170 cities across the country. The interesting thing is that the format of CAT 2025 will remain the same as previous years, but students will have to focus more on strong logical reasoning, comprehension and concept clarity.

How will CAT 2025 be? Know the complete pattern

The CAT exam will be of total 2 hours for non-PwD candidates, divided into three parts. The time of each section will be fixed at 40 minutes.

1. VARC- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

2. DILR- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

3. QA- Quantitative Ability

The biggest thing is that sectional movement will be blocked, that is, you will not be able to move to the next section until one section is completed. PWD candidates will get 40 minutes additional time.

CAT 2025 convener gave important tips

Ram Kumar PN, professor at IIM Kozhikode and CAT 2025 convener, has said that there will be no major structural changes in CAT 2025 compared to previous years. The purpose of the examination is to test the student’s critical reasoning, analytical thinking and problem-solving ability in all three sections. He also made it clear that to avoid problems, instead of memorizing, it is important for students to understand the concepts, make mature logic and strengthen their comprehension.

Prepare for interview after CAT like this

According to Professor Ram Kumar, you should start preparing for the interview as soon as CAT is over, no matter what your score is. Interview rounds include-

  • Personal Interview (PI)
  • Retained Ability Test (WAT)
  • Both these rounds have 30-50% weightage in the final selection, that is, they are very important. These things are especially seen in WAT – your way of writing, clarity of thinking, ability to present your ideas correctly in limited time.
