Gather these ingredients

Beetroot should be at least 300 grams and milk should be one and a half times more than that, i.e. if grated beetroot is 1 cup then one and a half cup of full cream milk should be taken. Apart from this, you will need 2 to 3 spoons of desi ghee. Half cup sugar i.e. approximately 100 grams. Take 10 to 13 cashews, 8 to 10 almonds, 8-10 walnuts, 1 teaspoon raisins and 5-6 green cardamoms. If you want to further enhance the taste then 100 grams of Mawa can also be taken.

What preparations should be made?

  • First of all, wash the beetroot, cut off its upper and lower parts, then peel it and grate it.
  • Cut or break almonds, cashews and walnuts into small pieces and then add 2 teaspoons of ghee in a pan and fry the almonds, cashews and walnuts.
  • If the raisins are very big then you can divide them into two parts. Apart from this, grind cardamom and make powder. Keep the peels aside which will be used in tea.

Beetroot Halwa Recipe

Melt 2 more tablespoons of ghee in the same pan in which you fried the nuts (keep in mind that the bottom of the vessel should be thick). Add grated beetroot in it and fry it on low flame for 3-4 minutes while stirring continuously. After this, add milk to it, cover it on low flame and let it cook for at least 4-5 minutes and then stir it with a ladle. Now remove the lid and cook it open. Until the milk becomes very less. Keep stirring in between. At this stage add sugar and cardamom powder. Let the moisture from the sugar dry. When the halwa is ready, add fried nuts to it. If you have mawa, crush it and garnish the halwa.
