Bye Election Result: Result of by-elections on 8 seats from Budgam to Nagrota.

Counting of votes is going on for the by-elections held in 6 states and 8 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir. These seats were vacant due to death, resignation or disqualification of MLAs. Candidates from different parties are trying their luck on these seats.

New Delhi: Counting of votes will also be held for by-elections held in 8 assembly constituencies of 6 states and Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir along with Bihar, where by-elections were held for vacant seats. Voting for Bihar Assembly elections was held in two phases on November 6 and November 11. This is the first assembly election in the country in two decades, which was conducted after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. Exit polls have predicted that NDA government is going to be formed once again in Bihar.

Budgam Bye Election Result: The main contest in Budgam is between Agha Syed Mehmood of the ruling National Conference and Agha Syed Muntajir Mehdi of the Mehbooba Mufti-led Peoples Democratic Party. In Jammu and Kashmir, voting was held for the by-election in Budgam following the resignation of Omar Abdullah. Chief Minister Abdullah had decided to retain the Ganderbal seat and vacate the Budgam seat after winning both the seats in the 2024 assembly elections.

Nagrota Bye Election Result: In Nagrota, National Conference’s Shamim Begum is contesting against BJP’s Devyani Rani. The Congress candidate has withdrawn his nomination in favor of Begum. A total of 13 candidates are in the fray in the by-election. Nagrota seat of Jammu and Kashmir had become vacant after the death of BJP MLA Devendra Singh Rana last year. Rana died within fifteen days of taking oath, and counting of votes for the Nagrota seat is scheduled to take place today.

Tarn Taran By Election Result: In Punjab, by-elections for the Tarn Taran assembly constituency were held on 11 November. This seat fell vacant in June 2025 after the death of sitting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal. BJP has fielded Harjeet Singh Sandhu against AAP’s Harmeet Singh Sandhu and Congress candidate Karanbir Singh Burj.

Anta Bye Election Result: Counting of votes also took place in Anta seat of Baran district of Rajasthan. The seat had fallen vacant after the disqualification of BJP MLA Kanwar Lal Meena, who was convicted in a 2005 case. He was accused of threatening a government official and was convicted in May this year. This election saw a direct contest between Congress candidate Pramod Jain Bhaya and BJP’s Morpal Suman.

Ghatsila Bye Election Result: The contest on Ghatshila seat of Jharkhand is between Babulal Soren, son of former BJP Chief Minister Champai Soren, and Grand Alliance candidate Somesh Chandra Soren.

Nuapada Bye Election Result: In Odisha, Nuapada assembly seat fell vacant after the demise of senior BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia in September. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Jai Dholakia will try to strengthen the party’s position in the state assembly as he faces competition from BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria and Congress’s Ghasiram Majhi.

Jubilee Hills Bye Election Result: The contest on Jubilee Hills assembly seat in Telangana is between Congress’s Naveen Yadav, a Backward Class (BC) leader, and BRS’s Sunita, who is Gopinath’s widow. BJP has selected Lankala Deepak Reddy as its candidate.

Dampa Bye Election Result: Dampa constituency of Mizoram is also one of the seats where by-elections will be held. BJP’s Lalmingthanga Sello, Congress’s John Rotluangliyana, MNF’s R Lalthangliyana and ZPM’s Vanlalsailova are the candidates.
