BSP is more dangerous than the rebels in the ravines, should Mayawati spoil the game of Congress-BJP? – Khel Ja

In the politics of Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior-Chambal division was once known for rebellious ravines. Rebels have the power to make or break political games. This time, the rebel i.e. the dacoit may not be in the election field, but the darkest colors of rebellion are visible somewhere in politics. Those who did not get tickets from Congress and BJP have become rebels and have jumped into the electoral fray as independent candidates, but the real challenge in the rugged area has become BSP candidates rather than rebels.

BSP chief Mayawati has entered the election fray in Madhya Pradesh in alliance with Gondwana Republic Party. BSP has fielded candidates on 178 seats while its ally Gondwana Gantantra Party is contesting on 52 seats. In this way, even though BSP is contesting on 178 seats of MP, its candidates are in the fray on most of the seats in the Chambal belt, which is considered rugged. The way BSP has gambled by giving tickets to Congress-BJP rebels, the contest on most of the seats in Chambal-Gwalior has become triangular.

Strength of Dalit voters and BSP in Chambal

There are a total of 34 assembly seats in the Chambal-Gwalior region and in the 2018 elections, 27 were won by Congress, five by BJP and two by BSP. In 2013, BJP got 20 seats, Congress 12 seats and BSP two seats. In 2008, BSP was successful in winning five seats in this area. Dalit voters are the strength of BSP in Gwalior-Chambal area, who are in a position to make or break the game of Congress and BJP.

Mayawati played a bet on the rebels

Due to the majority of Dalit community, Mayawati’s BSP party has been winning elections in the rugged areas and this time too it seems to be getting strong strength. This time in the Chambal area, BJP and Congress are not spoiling each other’s game, nor are the rebels or infighting between the two parties harming them, but BJP-Congress are directly the target of BSP in this area. In this area, Mayawati has played a gamble by giving tickets to the rebel leaders of these parties, due to which she seems to be trying to emerge as a third force.

Threat to BJP-Congress from BSP!

Out of 17 assembly seats of Gwalior Bhind-Morena, BSP seems to be in the main contest on 9 seats. Due to this the equations seem to have changed. In these districts, BSP has spoiled the mathematics of Congress on five seats while it has created tension for BJP on four seats. BSP candidates are in the fray on Sumavali, Dimani of Morena district, Dabra of Gwalior and Gwalior East seats, these seats are currently with Congress. BSP candidates on these seats have become a cause of concern for Congress.

At the same time, BSP candidates have rebelled against BJP and entered the electoral fray in Lahar, Bhind, Ater and Morena seats of Bhind district. This is the reason why BSP remains a big threat for BJP here. However, Lahar assembly seat is with Congress, Bhind with BSP and Morena seat with Congress. Lahar seat was won by BSP in 2013. BSP has focused most on Gwalior-Chambal as well as Vindhya region.

Mayawati’s focus in Chambal area

Mayawati’s entire political tour in Madhya Pradesh was in this area. Mayawati first held rallies in Niwari in Bundelkhand and Sevda in Datia district, followed by Chhatarpur and Damoh, Rewa and Satna. Mayawati has tried to create an atmosphere by holding rallies in Bhind and Morena. In this way, to become the third force, Mayawati focused most on Chambal region, due to which BSP seems to be standing in the main contest, due to which the concerns of Congress and BJP have increased.
