BMW M4 Performance Coupe Facelift Spotted Testing At Nurburgring Circuit With New Powertrain, Design

BMW is in the works, fine-tuning the next iteration of its 4 Series lineup, encompassing the M4 Competition Coupe. The German luxury automaker is actively testing prototypes of this upgraded performance coupe on public roads and the renowned Nurburgring circuit.

It is anticipated that the facelifted M4 Competition Coupe will get a boost in performance and a new design.

New BMW M4 Competition Coupe – Powertrain

According to the report, the upcoming BMW M4 Competition Coupe will be getting significant changes in its powertrain as it will be using a more powerful S58 inline-six engine that will produce 20 bhp more power than the outgoing model. However, this extra power will be reserved exclusively for the AWD variant of the performance coupe. On the other hand, the RWD variant of the M4 Competition Coupe is expected to maintain its current power output of 496 bhp.

Additionally, the M4 Competition Coupe AWD variant is expected to be powered by a 3.0-litre twin- turbocharged engine which is tuned to churn out a robust peak power of 516 bhp. Whereas, the base model of the performance coupe is expected to maintain its current peak power output of 467 bhp, staying consistent with the performance of the existing model.

Apart from the powertrain changes, the upcoming BMW M4 Competition Coupe is also poised to get visual changes like a larger kidney grille that will replace the current one used which is comparatively smaller. Unfortunately, the report doesn’t include any additional specifics regarding the design and mechanical enhancements for this performance coupe.

According to reports from Bimmer Post, the new BMW M4 Competition Coupe is slated to enter into production around March 2024. It is expected that it will be launched in the North American and European markets initially with other international markets to follow later on including India.
