Voting will be held today for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. Meanwhile, political parties are eyeing 36 seats in Central India including the capital Bhopal. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been dominant here. However, gradually Congress is improving its performance. Veteran BJP leader and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan gets elected from this area. He contests elections from Budhni assembly seat. This time Congress has fielded local candidate Vikram Mastal in the election arena. Last time the party had given ticket to Arun Yadav. The opposition party has changed its strategy.
At the same time, this time the fight from Budhni assembly seat is more interesting because Mirchi Baba is also contesting the elections. The contest has become triangular. Although it is being said that CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan appears to be in a strong position, but due to the triangular contest, the seat remains the center of discussion. The Central India region includes eight districts including Rajgarh, Vidisha, Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Betul and Harda.

BJP would like to maintain its victory
In the 2013 assembly elections, BJP won 29 out of 36 seats, while Congress won 6 seats and BSP won 1 seat. However, in the 2018 assembly elections, BJP’s seat share decreased to 24 seats compared to 29 seats in the 2013 assembly elections, while Congress’s seat share increased from 6 seats to 12.
BJP wants to maintain its dominance in this area. Most of the districts of this region are adjacent to the capital Bhopal. Prominent ministers like Prabhuram Chaudhary and Vishwas Kailash Sarang also come from this area. If we look at the last few elections, there has been competition only between BJP and Congress. In comparison to the last assembly elections, this time the fight for Congress on many seats is considered to be tough.
