The attack took place in the Gangaur police station area, where unidentified assailants targeted the leader at close range. The bullet hit him in the chest and his condition is still said to be extremely critical. The people present on the spot immediately took him to Khagaria Sadar Hospital, from where he was referred to Higher Medical Center.
