Goa Nightclub Fire: The fire that broke out late night in the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub located near Baga Beach in Arpora area of Goa has put the entire area in panic. According to initial information, at least 23 people have died in this scary incident. Police and fire brigade believe that the fire broke out due to cylinder blast, but its official confirmation will be available only after investigation. The rescue operation continued throughout the night, dense smoke, flames and screams of injured people – there was an atmosphere of chaos everywhere. Viral videos and pictures on social media made the incident even more horrifying as they showed balls of fire and black smoke rising from the nightclub building. Many people remained stranded on the spot, which took hours to rescue.

Did the cylinder blast burn the nightclub within minutes?
Police and fire department officials say that the fire started around midnight and spread so fast that most people did not get a chance to save themselves. The most shocking thing is that most of the 23 bodies were found in the kitchen area, which indicates that the blast might have taken place there. Two bodies were also found on the stairs, who might have fallen while trying to get out from there. Goa DGP Alok Kumar has confirmed that most of the people who died in the incident were staff members. CM said that three women and three to four tourists were also among the dead. Local people and witnesses say that the explosion was so strong that some people got injured immediately and fell down.
