Bihar: Will there be DNA test of the calf? Katihar police in dilemma due to claims of two owners

A strange case has come to light in Katihar, Bihar. Here two people have claimed one calf. The dispute between both the parties escalated so much that the police had to be called. But now the police themselves are in a dilemma as to how to decide the ownership of this calf. On the other hand, both the claimants have demanded the police to conduct DNA test of the calf. The matter is of Lalkothi Monidhar locality in Katihar Nagar police station area. At present the police is trying to resolve the matter by talking to both the parties.

According to the police, Chhoti Kumari, living in Lalkothi Monidhar locality, says that the calf is hers. His cow was electrocuted a year ago and died. After a few days, this calf had gone away from home and has now returned home on its own. According to Chhoti Kumari, her cow had three calves and all three were red in color. This calf is also red in colour. On the other hand, Amit Kumar, living in Ward 21, says that the calf is his.

Both parties complained to the police

Alleged that Chhoti Kumari had forcibly tied him up in her house. According to Ward 21 councilor representative Manoj Rai, Chhoti Kumari is now asking to bring her cow. She says that if the calf drinks the milk of her cow, she will return the calf. In this matter both the parties have given complaint in the police station. Along with this, both the parties have also given their respective arguments expressing their ownership rights on the calf.

Police said: Now DNA will have to be done

When the police could not take any decision in this matter, both the parties demanded DNA test of the calves. In such a situation, the police itself is in a dilemma as to how to conduct the DNA test of the calf. However, the police has assured both the parties to resolve the problem soon. Police also say that now DNA test is the only help to find the mother of the calf.
