Border Gavaskar Series: Team India has to play Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia this year. But even before that, Team India is facing setbacks after setbacks. Because of which Team India may face difficulty in winning the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
This series is very important for Team India because only after this series it will be decided that Team India will play the World Test Championship final. If Team India loses this series then it can be a big problem for them because their dream of going to the final for the third consecutive time will be shattered.
Ravichandran Ashwin may be out of playing eleven
Before the start of this series, Team India has suffered a big setback. Team India’s veteran off-spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin may be out of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Ashwin played an important role in winning the last two Border Gavaskar series. Not only did he defeat the Australian batsmen with his bowling, but despite being injured with his batting, he along with Hanuma Vihari helped in drawing the Sydney Test.
Let us tell you that Ashwin is not being dropped from the Border Gavaskar Trophy due to injury, but Team India prefers to play Ravindra Jadeja instead of Ashwin on foreign soil. Jadeja not only contributes with bowling but he also scores important runs with batting. Jadeja has improved a lot in his batting in the last several years, due to which the team management trusts him and gives him preference in the playing eleven.
Ashwin played an important role in the last series
Ravichandran Ashwin played a match in the Border Gavaskar Series of the year 2018-19 in which Ashwin took 6 wickets at an average of 24.83. Whereas in the Border Gavaskar Series of 2020-21, he took 12 wickets in 6 innings of 3 matches at an average of 28.83.
While Ashwin also played a good innings in batting, even though he is not scoring much runs in this series, despite the injury, he along with Vihari played an important role in drawing the Sydney Test match.
