In today’s era, smartphone has become an important part of our everyday life. But often people ignore the security of their phones. To caution such people, the government agency Consumer Affairs (Jago Grahak Jago) has issued a post on its X (Twitter) account, in which people have been advised to avoid using wrong or cheap chargers.
Wrong charger can cause big damage
According to the post of Consumer Affairs, many people buy cheap and sub-standard chargers in order to save money. These chargers neither follow any safety standards nor do they have any certification mark. Such chargers can pose a threat to your phone’s battery, motherboard and even your safety.
Which charger to buy?
The government agency has advised that consumers should always buy chargers with CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) mark.
- The CRS mark indicates that the charger has met safety standards.
- Use charger without CRS mark for the phone
-
How to identify a sub-standard charger?
Chargers that –
- are being sold under fake brand names,
- Does not have a certification mark (such as CRS),
- Made from poor quality components,
- Or a copy of the original charger,
They fall in the sub-standard category.
Dangers of sub-standard charger
