Awareness program for athletes with intellectual disability, Special Olympics India organized a special event

For the development of sports among the intellectually disabled, Special Olympics India (SOB) organized the Special Harmony program to create awareness about their potential and take it to the next level. Fifteen special children along with famous singer Amit Kumar and other mainstream artists participated in the program organized by the National Sports Federation (NSF) of this game for intellectually disabled players.

Special event held in New Delhi

The event, held on Sunday 17 November at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi, also featured a musical concert which celebrated the spirit and talent of people with intellectual disabilities. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and Special Olympics India President Mallika Nadda also participated in this program. During this, Mallika Nadda said, this event is not just about demonstration, it is about empowering these children and showing the power of inclusivity to the world.

Team announced for games

This special event was organized in connection with the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Bauchi and Bowling Competition which is going to be held at Tyagaraja Stadium, which will run till 22nd November. Special Olympics India had recently announced a squad of 16 members for these games. Teams of 4-4 women and men have been selected for the Bauchi competition. Kabir Pritam Barua, Ebenezer David, Wilfred D’Souza and Devansh Agarwal have got place in the men’s team. Priyanka, Manjula, Purnima Madan and G Subhashini have been included in the women’s squad. There will be two coaches each with both the teams.

Similarly, for the bowling event also, 4-4 women’s and men’s squads have been selected, while 2-2 coaches will remain with both the squads. The women’s team includes Neha Singh, Simran Pujara, Shraddha Patel and Ms. Sangeeta Nayak, while the men’s team includes Ibhanan Sahu, Ankit, Prakash Vaghela and Nirupam Dey.
