Awarapan 2 Box Office Collection Day 10: Emraan Hashmi’s Film Shows Improvement, Nears ₹150 Crore In India

Emraan Hashmi’s  continues to perform strongly at the box office, with the film completing 10 days in theatres on Sunday (August 23). Released on August 14 alongside Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, the sequel has maintained its lead over its competition and remained steady in its second week.

The film has benefited from consistent audience footfalls and positive word-of-mouth. It has now emerged as one of the stronger theatrical performers of the year.

According to Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 earned Rs 8.75 crore net in India on Day 10. The film recorded around 21 per cent occupancy across 13,632 shows on its second Sunday.

With the latest collection, the film’s India net total has reached Rs 136.25 crore, while its India gross collection stands at Rs 162.50 crore.

The sequel also continued to find an audience overseas, earning Rs 1.50 crore on Day 10. Its overseas gross collection has now reached Rs 30.30 crore. The film’s worldwide gross stands at Rs 192.80 crore, leaving it less than Rs 8 crore short of the Rs 200 crore mark.

After a relatively slower second Friday, Awarapan 2 picked up pace over the weekend. The film collected Rs 5.75 crore net on Friday from 9,858 shows.

Saturday brought an improvement, with the film earning Rs 8.25 crore net from 10,008 shows. This represented a 43.5 per cent jump over Friday. Overall occupancy on Saturday stood at 18 per cent, while evening and night shows performed considerably better, reaching 33.85 per cent occupancy.

The strong weekend performance has helped the film maintain its momentum in its second week.

The sequel started its theatrical journey on a strong note, collecting Rs 22 crore net on its opening day. Collections jumped sharply on Independence Day, with Day 2 bringing in Rs 33.75 crore net, a 53.4 per cent rise from the first day. It remains the film’s biggest single-day collection so far.

The momentum continued on Day 3, when the film earned another Rs 26 crore net. Its opening weekend total stood at Rs 81.75 crore.

Awarapan 2 remained steady during the weekdays and closed its first seven days with Rs 113.50 crore net in India. It crossed the Rs 100 crore mark within its opening week and has continued to add to its total in the second week.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, Awarapan 2 brings Emraan Hashmi back as Shivam Pandit. Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi also feature in key roles. The supporting cast includes Puran Gabbi, Anirudh Rawal, Surendar Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Atul Kumar.
