Elections have been postponed for Srikaranpur assembly seat in Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan. This decision has been taken by the Election Commission after the death of Congress candidate and MLA Gurmeet Singh Kunnar. An order has also been issued by the Returning Officer regarding postponing the elections.
According to the order of Returning Officer Subhash Chandra, a new date will be announced by the Commission regarding the election on the seat. At present the election is postponed after the death of the candidate. Kunnar died on Wednesday evening at AIIMS, Delhi.

According to the information, after his health deteriorated, Kunnar was first taken to a hospital in Jaipur. After this, he was referred to Delhi AIIMS, but his life could not be saved. 75 year old Kunnar had a brain attack this week.
Rajasthan CM expressed grief
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also expressed grief over Kunnar’s demise. Posting on social media platform X, he said that I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Karanpur MLA and former minister Gurmeet Singh Kunnar. Despite being unwell for a long time, he continued working for the people of the area.
Instead of 200, votes will now be cast on 199 seats.
Let us tell you that voting will be held on 199 out of 200 seats in Rajasthan on 25th November. As the election date is approaching in the state, the political temperature is also rising. Candidates for all the seats have been announced by political parties. After Kunnar’s death, Congress will now have to find a new candidate.
