Similar situation was faced by SEVENTEEN member Mingyu and Jeon Somi.

According to a report in Koreaboo, the internal documents which was circulated, agency HYBE discussed topics including groups under its’ own labels, including SEVENTEEN. This came up after a picture of Mingyu alongside Woozy and THE8 were in Jeon Somi’s new album party release.

While it’s unclear if he intentionally addressed the situation, his mention of Wonwoo living with him reassured fans who had been upset by rumors of Joshua moving out to live with a girlfriend. The focus on Mingyu and Wonwoo’s living arrangements also helped shift attention away from the dating rumors involving Mingyu and Jeon Somi, which had recently gained traction on platforms like DC Inside.”
When Jeon Somi and SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu’s dating rumours created storm
When and Mingyu’s dating rumours spread, many netizens commented took it negatively on their relationship and flooded the comment section with their opinion.
One user wrote, “Mingyu, Woozi, and The8 were at the party so it is obvious the photo is from there”. Another user wrote, “Anymore Jeon Somi can collect”.
Many netizens at the same time defended the two idols. One user wrote, “Somi probably took a picture of Mingyu’s back when he was wearing that bag lmao”. Another user wrote, “I wanna be besties with Mingyu too”. “Girls can have make friends not dating”, wrote the third user.
