Actor Sivakarthikeyan on epic cameo in GOAT: You cannot replace Thalapathy Vijay

Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who played a cameo in Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT, spoke about how nobody can replace the Ghilli actor. In the film, Vijay hands over Thuppakki (pistol in English), which symbolises him passing the baton to Sivakarthikeyan.

In an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, he discussed the cameo and how special it was for him to share the screen with Vijay.

The Amaran actor said, “It was an exchange of love and I felt happy to share the screen with Thalapathy Vijay sir. When his film Thuppakki released, I did not have tickets. I got them from director Rajkumar, who was working as director AR Murugadoss’s assistant at that time. I posted about it on Twitter as well, which went viral recently.”

 Explaining how special the cameo was, Sivakarthikeyan said that nobody could replace Vijay. “From there to now, playing a cameo in GOAT is quite special to me. Every actor has a journey and Vijay sir too has a special journey. Even though he is from a filmy background, he has made it his own. If you can’t replace his journey, you can’t replace him. He has said that this was his last film, but his place will remain his,” he explained.

He continued, “Everyone has their own place in this world. The audiences never said they would accept a certain number of heroes; they are ready to celebrate whoever gives them a good film.”

Thalapathy Vijay announced that he would quit films after his 69th film with director H Vinoth. He held his first meeting in Tamil Nadu’s Vikravandi on October 27.

Sivakarthkeyan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Amaran, which . Directed by Rajkumar Periasami, the film is a biopic on the life of the late Major Mukund Varadarajan.
