Aadhaar Update Online 2025: UIDAI has made the Aadhaar update process completely digital from November 1, 2025. Now citizens will be able to update name, address and mobile while sitting at home. New fee fixed at ₹75, deadline for KYC paperless and PAN linking is 31 December 2025. So that now you will not have to stand in line to change name or address in Aadhar card. Yes, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has implemented a major digital update from 1 November 2025, making the entire process of Aadhaar update online and faster.
Now what updates can you make sitting at home?
- Under the new system of UIDAI, you can now update information like name, address, date of birth and mobile number sitting at home in just a few clicks.
- Now there is no need to stand in long queues at Aadhaar centres.
- Just visit the official website or mobile app of UIDAI, upload the documents and get the digital verification done.
How will the digital verification process happen?
- UIDAI has said that now the documents of the users will be digitally verified.
- This may include documents like your PAN card, passport, driving license or ration card.
- This will make the update process faster, safer and more reliable than before.
- New deadline for Aadhaar-PAN linking – if not done then PAN will be closed!
- The government has made it clear that all PAN holders are required to link Aadhaar by 31 December 2025.
- If you do not do this, your PAN card will be deactivated from January 1, 2026.
- This means that you will not be able to do any tax or banking transactions.
- Aadhaar verification has now been made mandatory for new PAN cards also.
Which documents need to be uploaded?
During online update, users will have to upload digital documents for their identity. These include:
- PAN Card
- Passport
- driving license
- ration card
These documents will be verified through the digital system of UIDAI, which will eliminate the need for manual verification and there will be no risk of fraud or duplicate updates.
Digital KYC Process is now completely Paperless!
KYC i.e. “Know Your Customer” process in banks and financial institutions has now become paperless and easy.
- UIDAI has given three ways-
- Aadhaar OTP Verification
- Video KYC (Video Identification)
- In-person Verification (optional)
New fee for Aadhaar update – how much will have to be paid?
UIDAI has also changed the fee structure from November 1-
- Name, address or mobile number update: ₹75
- Biometric Update (Fingerprint, Photo or Iris): ₹125
- Biometric update for children (5-7 and 15-17 years): free
- Online Document Update: Free till June 14, 2026, after that ₹75
- Aadhaar Reprint: ₹40
- Home Enrollment Service: ₹700 for first applicant, ₹350 for every additional person at the same address
