The Ramayana trailer launch, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, was attended by producer Namit Malhotra, filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari and the film’s ensemble cast on Saturday.
Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey and Rakul Preet Singh were among those present.
Ramayana director Nitesh Tiwari opened up about casting Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Lord Ram and Sita. Speaking at the event, he revealed that the two actors were always his first choice for the iconic roles.
During the interaction, Nitesh Tiwari also shared why he chose Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi to play Lord Ram and Sita. “Ranbir ki aankhon mein mujhe Shri Ram dikhayi diye aur Sai ki aankhon mein mujhe Sita Mata dikhayi di.”
He added, “Apart from both of them being extremely talented and extremely gifted, I just felt the kind of sincerity I was looking for, the kind of preparation I wanted the characters to go through to play such important roles, I could’ve only found in these two. Two beautiful souls.
“And I’m so happy, I can’t tell you when you guys come and watch the film. Mujhe Sai nahi dikhayi deti, mujhe Sita Maata dikhayi deti hai. Mujhe Ranbir nahi dikhaye dete, mujhe Shree Ram dikhaye dete hai kyunki mujhe inki aankho mein sachayi dikhayi deti hai,” the filmmaker shared.
In the meantime, the four-minute teaser set the groundwork for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious retelling of the Indian epic by giving viewers their first in-depth look at the film’s magnificent sights, fantastical world, and important characters.
The Ramayana trailer will also be shown at Comic-Con San Diego on July 20, according to the film’s producers, which is a significant worldwide milestone for the epic. Before its global digital distribution, the presentation is anticipated to present the movie to a worldwide audience.
