Kylian Mbappé Makes History as FIFA World Cups All-Time Leading Scorer

New Delhi, July 19: In an exhilarating match for   at the   2026, England triumphed  with a score of 6-4, securing the bronze medal.

Despite the loss, French captain Kylian Mbappé made headlines by scoring two goals, setting a new record.

Mbappé has now become the all-time leading scorer in   Cup history, netting a total of 22 goals. This achievement surpasses Lionel Messi, who has scored 21 goals in   tournaments.

In addition to his record-breaking feat, Mbappé is also in the running for the ‘Golden Boot’ at the 2026 World Cup, having scored 10 goals in the tournament. Messi trails him with 8 goals but still has a chance to reclaim the lead in the upcoming final against Spain.

From the outset of the match, England dominated France’s defense. Declan Rice opened the scoring just three minutes in, followed by Ezri Konsa doubling the lead in the 18th minute. Bukayo Saka then scored two goals in quick succession at the 37th and 43rd minutes, putting England ahead 3-0.
