Durga Puja 2025 Start Date: Goddess Durga is worshiped during Durga Puja. It is a major festival, which is celebrated during Sharadiya Navratri. This festival is also known as Durgotsav. Durgotsav is celebrated for five days. In Sharadiya Navratri, Durgotsav is particularly celebrated on the days of Shashthi, Mahashtami, Mahashtami, Mahanavami and Vijayadashami.

Navratri will be 10 days in the year 2025, because this time Tritiya will be two days. The festival of Durga Puja is especially celebrated with great enthusiasm and pomp in Bengal, Odisha, Assam and Eastern India.
Durga Puja 2025 Important Date
- In the year 2025, Durga Puja will start on September 28, Sunday on Shashthi Tithi. Mother Katyayani is worshiped on this day. This day is considered auspicious for the installation of the idol of Durga Puja. On this day, from 06:08 am to 10:30 am, the installation of idol will be the best Muhurta.
- On this day, the tradition of bilva invitation and pandal decorating is also played.
- Rathi Puja will be held on 30 September 2025, on Tuesday on Ashtami Tithi. The mother will be worshiped with 108 lamps and 108 lotus flowers in Ashtami and Navami’s Samadhilas (from 07:36 to 08:24 pm). This time is very special for worshiping the Chamunda form of Maa Durga.
- On the day of Vijayadashami i.e. October 2, 2025, the idols of Maa Durga will be immersed in rivers and ponds.
