UP Police Launches Helpline Number Amid Crisis in Nepal, Seals Border

Amid the ongoing crisis in Nepal, the Uttar Pradesh Police has launched a 24*7 Whatsapp helpline, besides three other dedicated numbers.

The UP Police has also setup a control room at Police Headquarters in Lucknow to monitor the situation in Nepal and to help Indian people stranded in the neighbouring country. The control room will be monitored by ADG Law and Order. The helpline numbers launched by UP Police are 0522-2390257, 0522-2724010, while the WhatsApp number is 9454401674.

The UP Police has also sealed the Indo-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh for the time being. Districts sharing borders with Nepal have been put on high alert while additional forces have been dispatched to increase the patrolling. The districts include Baharaich, Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri and Shravasti, which share a border with Nepal.

The UP Police is also coordinating with SSB on the border for better security arrangements. SSB jawans have been extensively making announcements informing people that the borders have been shut.
