New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday raised concerns over the impact of the Iran-Israel-US war on India. He said the consequences of the conflict would be severe and that its effects were already visible in the country.
Rahul Gandhi said people were facing gas shortages and that many hotels and restaurants were close to shutting down due to the situation. He stressed that energy security forms the foundation of any country.
He asked whether the United States would influence India’s energy decisions. “The foundation of any country is its energy security. Will America decide from whom we buy oil and gas? Will it decide whether to buy oil from Russia or not? Will it decide how we will interact with which country? Will we buy oil at America’s behest?”
