The complaint states that during the celebration at the stadium in Ahmedabad, Pandya draped the tricolor around his body and behaved inappropriately. Khan says that it is the duty of every citizen to maintain the dignity of the national flag and this action of Pandya is a violation of the law. He has demanded legal action in this matter.

He took 9 wickets in the tournament and also showed his batting prowess by scoring 52 runs in 28 balls against Namibia. On winning the World Cup, Hardik had said, “After the victory in Barbados in 2024, I had promised myself that in whatever tournament I play, I will fight for the title. This victory in Ahmedabad is the result of that promise.” Pandya said this to Star Sports.
India created a record
32-year-old Pandya is one of the four Indian players who have been included in the ICC’s 2026 T20 World Cup squad. He recalled that he had to face many personal challenges ahead of the 2024 World Cup, but he came back strongly and helped India win the title after 17 years. By defeating New Zealand in Ahmedabad, India created history by becoming the first team to retain the T20 World Cup title and the first team to win this title thrice.
