Why is the shortage of gas cylinders increasing?
Ships bringing gas from Gulf countries (Qatar, Saudi, Kuwait) have to pass through a narrow sea route named ‘Strait of Hormuz’. Iran has threatened that if it is attacked, it will completely close this route. Earlier, more than 150 ships used to leave from here every day, which has now reduced to only 13. At present, about 28 Indian ships are stranded in the sea, carrying sailors and essential oil and gas.
