Fake stories, claiming to be from the official Instagram handles of film stars, have become a new trend. However, many of them turn out to be fabricated and created solely for engagement. One such story is currently doing the rounds on X. Claiming to be a note from Kangana Ranaut, the post portrays the Queen actress supporting Yash and Kiara Advani’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups while criticising Deepika Padukone’s Gehraiyaan for its intimate scenes. However, the actress has not shared the viral statement on her official Instagram account.
Kangana Ranaut’s FAKE IG Post Supporting Toxic, Slamming Gehraiyaan
The text, claiming to be an IG Story from Kangana’s official handle, read, “Bollywood’s ecosystem is criticising Kiara Advani and Yash’s for showing intimacy, even though the script required it. At the same time, the same industry praised Deepika Padukone for doing even bolder romantic scenes in Gehraiyaan with a younger actor. The double standards and negative PR are obvious.”
It was shared with the caption: “Kangana Ranaut posted story in support of #ToxicTheMovie and cooked Deepika Padukone.”

The statement above is fake. While actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut is an avid X user and often shares her on social media, she did not share any such post about . Notably, she has not commented on the controversy surrounding Kiara Advani and Yash’s steamy scenes either.
Many netizens have criticised the unauthentic post. This is fake. She never posted any story on insta in support of anyone nor against anyone. Please stop misleading people. And stop creating fake images. This is disgusting,” commented a fan. Another person wrote, “Fake post alert! Kangana hasn’t posted any story today.”
This comes at a time when social media platforms have been flooded with hate tweets targeting Kiara. Many have dragged her husband, amid the vicious trolling surrounding Toxic. Yash and Kiara’s chemistry in the recently released song Tabaahi has left the internet divided.
Toxic, which also stars Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara and Rukmini Vasanth, is slated to release on August 26, 2026.
