Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh is now moving towards decisive progress in the field of science and technology. Yogi government has announced many ambitious plans in the budget 2026-27 to give a new direction to this sector. The objective of these initiatives is to make the state digitally and technologically self-reliant and to establish a strong center of science and innovation at the national level.
UP AI Mission and India AAI Data Lab promoted
The budget proposes to launch the “Uttar Pradesh AI Mission” along with taking forward the India AI Mission and India AI Data Lab. It aims to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) based solutions in key sectors like governance, education, health and agriculture. Along with this, there is a plan to develop the state as a big hub of secure data storage and cloud services by strengthening the Uttar Pradesh State Data Center and Data Center Cluster.
U-Hub in Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar: New energy to startups
Establishment of U-Hub in Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar will promote startups and innovation. Through these hubs, youth will be provided modern technical resources, mentorship and investment opportunities. Under Tech Yuva Samarth Yuva Yojana, technically proficient youth will be encouraged and provided better employment and self-employment opportunities.
Special emphasis on cyber security and digital connectivity
Yogi government is strengthening the cyber security system keeping in mind the challenges of the digital age. The expansion of UP Statewide Area Network-3 (UPSWAN-3) will further strengthen the digital connectivity of the state. This will increase the reach and effectiveness of online services up to the district and tehsil level.
Technical Education and Emerging Technology Mission
Technical education will be strengthened in the state by construction of new polytechnic institutes and upgradation of existing institutes. Under the New and Emerging Technology Mission, research and training in modern technologies like robotics, drones, Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain will be promoted.
Scientific approach in natural disaster management
Satellite payload and sensor system will be developed for protection and early warning from lightning. This will strengthen the scientific and technical approach in the field of protection from natural disasters.
