UPSRTC: 400 new buses, helpline 149 and digital tracking app, big gift to UP people. UP Transport Department Yogi Adityanath Road Safety Electric Buses

Uttar Pradesh Transport Department: CM Yogi Adityanath gave new gifts to Uttar Pradesh Transport Department. UP Public Transport will get new direction with road safety, electric buses, modern bus stations, simple transport helpline 149 and digital services.

UPSRTC Electric Buses News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched several new schemes and services of Uttar Pradesh Transport Department at a grand ceremony held on Saturday at Indira Gandhi Foundation in the capital Lucknow. On this occasion, he flagged off 400 new buses, launched the facility of transporting more than 45 services to the public through 1.5 lakh public service centers and completed a series of digital release and foundation stone programs.

The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is not only the transport service provider, but a charioteer of the concept of developed India. He outlined the historical role of the department, future challenges and opportunities on the occasion.

The key to success is to walk at the speed of time

CM Yogi Adityanath said that “If a society or institution follows the pace of time, it always remains behind. But if the same society has the ability to move two steps ahead of time, then Vijayashree’s flag is in his hands.” He appealed to the Transport Department to implement the short term (3 years), medium term (10 years) and long term (22 years) schemes.

Historical responsibility played in the crisis period

The CM recalled the role of the department during the 2019 Prayagraj Mahakumbh and Korona epidemic.

  • During the Korona period, when millions of migrant workers were returning to their states, the UP Transport Department not only brought migrants to Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, West Bengal and Uttarakhand safely.
  • Even in Prayagraj Mahakumbh, the department arranged the crowd on railway stations and roads and brought crores of devotees to their destination safely.

CM said that this department has proved to be a reliable companion in every hour of crisis.

Road safety biggest challenge

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that every year in road accidents, more lives than Corona. Most of them are young. This is not only a tragedy for the family but also a big concern for the society and the government.

He instructed-

  • Medical and fitness testing of bus drivers will be mandatory every 3 months.
  • Eye examination will be especially necessary so that accidents do not occur due to vision defect.
  • No one will be allowed to “drive” on the road.

Awareness and technical cooperation is necessary

Emphasizing road safety, CM said-

  • Technical and practical solutions will be discovered with IIT Kharagpur and UP Police.
  • Education will be educated on traffic rules in schools.
  • Helmets, seat belts, drunk driving and strict rules will apply.
  • A large -scale awareness campaigns will be conducted through media and digital platforms.

Net Xero Target and Electric Buses

CM Yogi said that electric buses will play an important role in meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s net Xero emission target.

  • Village-village connectivity and better public transport in UP will not only reduce pollution, but can also create 3 lakh jobs.
  • A network of charging stations will be laid with private sector participation.

Modern bus station and scraping policy

In the program, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 7 modern bus stations to be built on PPP model. These include cities like Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, Lucknow and Ayodhya. They said that-

  • Bus stations should be equipped with world class facilities.
  • The scraping policy of old vehicles should be implemented rapidly.
  • Driving training institutes should be further strengthened.

Inauguration of new services and appointments

  • Simple Transport Helpline 149 was launched.
  • Digital bus tracking app (guide) was launched.
  • A new booklet of International Driving Permit was released.
  • 400 new buses (including electric, CNG, double decker) were flagged off.
  • Appointment letters were handed over to three women operators.
  • Certificates were provided to various investors and service centers.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clearly stated that the Transport Department is not only a means of travel, but it is a charioteer to decide the speed of developed Uttar Pradesh. UP will emerge as India’s best public transport model in the coming years through road safety, environmental protection, modern bus stations and digital services.
