No Political Significance to Jr NTR’s July 18 Meeting?

The proposed July 18 meeting involving popular Tollywood actor Junior N T Rama Rao, popularly known as Jr NTR, triggered rumours on social media about his possible return to politics. However, his fans’ association dismissed the speculation on Monday.

In a statement, the association clarified that the event scheduled for July 18 has no political significance.

“The ‘Ooru-Vaada’ programme planned for July 18 is purely a social initiative and should not be linked to any speculation about the actor’s political future,” it said.

The association stated that preparations for the programme had been made well in advance and urged media organisations and social media platforms not to spread unverified reports suggesting that the event would mark Jr NTR’s political debut.

“We planned the Ooru-Vaada programme long ago. It should not be connected with politics. We request media organisations and social media pages not to believe or circulate false propaganda. Such reports are creating unnecessary confusion among fans,” the statement said.

Despite the clarification from the fans’ association, supporters are still awaiting an official response from Jr NTR regarding the speculation.

The rumours gained momentum amid reports that more South Indian film stars could follow the political path taken by Tamil actor-politician Vijay, whose electoral success has sparked fresh discussion about actors entering public life.

In recent weeks, similar speculation has surrounded actor Allu Arjun, with reports claiming that he met political strategist Prashant Kishor to discuss a possible political entry. However, neither the actor nor his representatives have issued any official confirmation.
