Varun Tej’s quirky horror-comedy Korean Kanakaraju, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and produced by UV Creations in association with First Frame Entertainment, is set for release on August 7.
After generating initial buzz with the title glimpse and the first single, the makers have now unveiled the film’s teaser. Rebel Star Prabhas did the honours of releasing it.
The teaser introduces Kanakaraju from Penukonda, a fun-loving youngster whose life takes an unexpected turn after he falls in love with a Korean girl.
What begins as a quirky romance soon evolves into a supernatural adventure when a mysterious force arriving from Korea possesses him, giving rise to Korean Kanakaraju.
The biggest strength of the teaser lies in its visual storytelling. Merlapaka Gandhi presents the narrative without relying heavily on exposition, instead allowing the visuals and situations to naturally build curiosity.
Varun Tej’s command over the Rayalaseema dialect, expressive body language, and comic timing perfectly suit the character. His stylish transformation towards the end of the teaser serves as an exciting payoff.
Satya once again proves to be a major entertainer with his hilarious interactions, while Ritika Nayak fits naturally into her role.
Manojh Reddy Katasani’s cinematography beautifully captures two contrasting worlds with equal richness. S. Thaman’s impressive background score elevates every moment, while the film’s high production values are evident throughout.
Packed with comedy, action, fantasy, romance, and supernatural elements, the teaser successfully raises anticipation for Korean Kanakaraju.
