The central government has given a good gift to the people of the country before Diwali. The government has made a big change in the GST slab in the 56th meeting of the GST Council. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has now replaced GST in 5 percent and 18 per cent in 2 slabs in place of 4 to make GST easy and transparent. In such a situation, the government has also given a big gift to women, farmers and students. The things related to them have become cheap.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that this reform will greatly benefit the common man and these new slabs will be implemented on the first day of Navratri i.e. 22 September 2025. The government has reduced the slab with the aim of increasing consumption and has reduced tax on everyday goods. In these, the prices of goods related to the use of farmers, women and students are getting low.

The government has reduced GST rates on agricultural equipment and materials. The tax rate on tractor tires and parts has been reduced from 18% to 5%. GST on tractors has also been reduced from 12% to 5%. Along with this, GST on special bio-pesticides and micro-nutrients has been reduced from 12% to 5%. GST has also been reduced from 12% to 5% on modern irrigation techniques like drip irrigation system and sprinkler. Also, GST on agriculture, horticulture and forestry machinery used for soil preparation, farming, harvesting and threshing has been reduced from 12% to 5%.

At the same time, the government has also reduced GST on the products used for women. GST has decreased on face powder, shampoo, hand bag, hair oil. On face powder where earlier 18 percent GST was used. Now it has come down to 5 percent. If a face powder was first available for Rs 118 after Rs 100 + 18% GST. It will be available for Rs 105 from the 22nd. There will also be tax on hair oil and shampoo. Whereas, tax on hand bags will also cost 5 percent, but it will be less cheaper than the rest. Because, now the tax on it is 12 percent, which will be reduced to 5 percent.

At the same time, due to changes in GST slab, children who read and write will also get relief. Giving gifts to students in Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, GST has been lifted from maps charts and globes as well as pencil sharpener, notebook and rubber. Now these products have been kept in zero percent tax category. Their prices will be reduced after 22 September 2025.
