Thalapathy Vijay, now Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, has been awaiting the release of his much-delayed swan song, Jana Nayagan . Finally, the film has been cleared with an A-certificate, but the makers are yet to confirm the official release date.
Amid this, Jana Nayagan’s distributor, Ahimsa Entertainment, revealed that the movie will be releasing in the U.K. on July 24. KVN Productions has not shared any update on the India release of the Tamil political actioner. Jana Nayagan has been delayed for six months.
Jana Nayagan to release in the U.K on July 24
According to Ahimsa Entertainment’s X post ‘s uncut version will be released in the U.K. on July 24. The caption read, “#JanaNayagan in UK cinemas July 24 – uncut, 15-rated. All the action, all the mass, all the Thalapathy craze, exactly as it was meant to be seen. One last time.”

Jana Nayagan censored
As per the latest development, Jana Nayagan received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after its January 9 release got stalled. Reportedly, 12 cuts have been ordered in the final version of the film, and that includes two cuss words. is now the CM of Tamil Nadu under the political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. The censor board asked the makers to remove the term TVK. Vijay’s character is named Thalapathy Vetri Kondan or TVK. According to the CBFC’s certificate, a dialogue at the 110:23-minute mark, which mentioned ‘Ambedkar sattam… to… TVK sattam’ was modified. The mention of TVK was removed from both audio and visuals without altering the runtime.
The film was cleared for release after the makers were instructed to remove visuals of the Indian flag falling on the ground. The asked to mute words such as ‘Bhagavatham,’ ‘Ranganathar,’ cuss words and OM, and demanded the deletion of a New India reference. Reportedly, a hanging sequence and a disrespectful DC office badge visual were modified. Certain dialogues from the film were muted, including body-related references and the phrase ‘India la kalla virala vaikarne.’ A scene showing a child being burned was removed. The word ‘Siluvaila’ was muted, and the character name ‘Sheela Rani’ was changed.
